Napier Museum is one of the oldest art and natural history museums in India. Nestled in the, lush museum grounds, this historic structure stands as a landmark in the city with its unique ornamentation and architecture. Named after Lord Napier, the Museum is famed for its fairly good collection of artistic, cultural and antique objects. Napier Museum is also known as the Government Art Museum. This historic wonder built in 1880 CE by Ayilyam Thirunal Maharaja, stands in glory in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram showcasing the majestic grandeur of the Travancore dynasty. This architectural masterpiece is renowned for its Indo-Saracenic structure, Gothic roofs and minarets.
